321 is non- heat fixable and non- magnetic inside the annealed condition. This combination contains chromium, nickel, and ti. It's utilized principally for applications involving welding or maintained elevated temperature operations. 321 metal steel coil and sheet is the main austenitic category of stainless. 321 is actually a 304-grade comprised of a stabilizer of titanium. Type 321 is a great choice for applications where heat is an issue. 321 may be used in applications around 900 degrees Celsius where 304 is generally worn- in order to 500 degrees Celsius. Grade 321 has excellent forming and welded characteristics. It does not enhance well so would not be used for decorative applications. The following is a standard austenitic 18/8 stainless steel grade,( 304), but stabilized by Titanium. The ti within means the stainless material is intergranular corrosion resistant after heating,( between 425- nine hundred degrees Celsius). Remarkably high toughness as well as scaling reluctance and phase stability set 321 Stainless Steel apart from other similar grades. This grade is not, however, recommended for welded consumable, as the titanium aspect does not allow good switch of heat across an increased- temperature arc.
